Every day, antibiotics are prescribed in hospitals without a second thought. But as resistance grows, these life-saving drugs are losing their effectiveness, turning once-treatable infections into life-threatening complications.
To help health-care professionals within the Central Asian and Eastern European Surveillance of Antimicrobial Resistance (CAESAR) network to take control of antibiotic use in their hospitals, WHO/Europe is launching the first WHO Antimicrobial Stewardship Coaching Programme – a hands-on, expert-led online course.
The Programme offers a unique opportunity for physicians to receive personalized coaching from leading antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) experts. Through direct guidance, participants will gain clinically relevant, data-driven strategies to strengthen AMS programmes in their institutions.
Participants will benefit from:
- one-on-one coaching with AMS experts who will offer personalized feedback and guidance tailored to their institution’s specific needs;
- advanced clinical training from world-class specialists from WHO collaborating centres, leading universities, public health agencies, and top European hospitals on how to develop and implement effective AMS programmes;
- clinical case examples to strengthen local data analysis and apply evidence-based strategies to improve antimicrobial use; and
- knowledge and best-practice exchange through collaborative discussions and expert-led sessions on antimicrobial resistance surveillance and AMS.
